You know, today I saw a piece of news that got me to think. And I do hope that that is one of the goals of any decent newscast...

Now, there are many many thoughts that came to my mind. But what came to my mind was that life, this life, is very precious, and that it can be taken away at any moment. And that the splendor of living animation cares not if you are "innocent" or "guilty" of either crimes or sins. Life passes, for both parties. And how sad it would be if you had to live that precious life in a cell. For all that time, how would you spend it?
Tim Samuels, the man who is telling Krishna's story here in the clip, asked the same thing. Maharaj described it as taking it one day at a time, otherwise one would go insane. I think, twisted around a bit, therein lies a very valuable lesson. The minutes and the hours and the days and weeks must have been brutal. Not seeing his devoted wife as often as he wished. I know how heart wrenching it can be to be separated even for a moment from one you feel so connected to. So it made me think, and it made me grateful. I have the minutes and I have the hours. Now what do I do with them? Any human life is so drastically short in comparison with the span of the Universe. I too should take it one day at a time, and live in the present, otherwise I think I'd go insane as well. Granted, I am not in a small enclosed area like Krishna, but life passes at the same rate as his. My point is this: regardless of your situation, make each and every minute, hour, and day count.
